The Kashmir Files is the latest Hindi language drama film released on 11 March 2022. the movie is written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The movie features many famous actors from Bollywood like Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and many more. According to the creators, the movie is based on Kashmiri Hindus.
Note: Before I am going to start this article. I want to clear a thing and that is I will only share things about the movie in this article and I am not going to comment about what happened in real life (This movie is based on real-life incidents, “according to the creators”). Because I am not familiar with this and it may be a controversial topic, I am only going to share details about the movie only, like How the quality of this movie and which part of this movie I liked and the cinematography that’s it.
But, if you are here to get a conclusion by reading my article that what is my ideology like which side of politics I support then you should not read this article. Because this article is not for you.
Review
So, let’s tell you how is the movie is?
This movie is structured to show how the Kashmiri Pandits fired from Kashmir who was living there before in 1990. the creators tried to show the story of this incident shown to us based on one family. I am pleased to see that the character of Darshan Kumar is shown as an audience in the movie just how before watching this movie the audience is not known to that incident. As the character of Darshan learns about the story of the Kashmiri Pandits we (The audience) also learn with him.
This movie tried to show us the point of view of the two sides (who were involved in this controversial incident) which I did not expect before watching this movie. But I saw that thing It is surprising for me It’s good. Then the biggest question comes into our mind “Is everything shown in the movie is correct?” just because of how the movie has shown us the incident. And with that, they added some real-life photos in the movie just because of this majority of the people who will watch this movie will think that the story which is shown in this movie is 100% correct, but we don’t know it is true or not and I am not going to tell you anything about this because it is your choice what you think.
Because in this technological world truth is available on the internet and you can find it easily. The truth is what you want to believe. In this movie, they show us many killings of people scenes which if a normal people watch then he will be shaken. These scenes will hit you because there is no music in these scenes. Mostly, the music played after the killing was done, otherwise, you will hear only the screaming of people and the sound of gunfire. The tool named silence is very greatly used by the director of this movie :).
The movie will affect you more because of the realism and brutality of this movie. The movie can be slow because the run time of this movie is 170 minutes but when you will see the climax and come out of the theatre then you will have a very strong feeling inside of you.
The actors of this movie specially Darshan Kumar and Anupam Kher is just awesome and including them, the supporting cast does their work greatly. But, because the budget of this movie is very low which is ₹3.55 crore($462K) that’s why we can clearly see that the shooting is done on the green screen in many scenes.

Over 48k people rated this movie 10/10 and only nearly 1.5 people rated this movie 1/10 in IMDb, which makes this movie’s ratings very positive. Over 6k people rated this movie 99% in Paytm. Rotten Tomatoes did not release in rating but the audience rating is 96% by 100 people.
