Logesh Balachandran from The Times of India rated this movie 2 stars out of 5 stars and said “Overall, Bommai could have been yet another good film in Radha Mohan’s filmography if he had worked a bit on incorporating some real conflicts.”

The film may be dismissed as unintentionally humorous given how laughable most of the events in the story are. But what the film really does is reveal a gender politics that is built on quite literally objectifying female bodies, while granting humanity to women solely on the basis of how good they are at mothering men.“
